Development of glasshouse horticulture area PrimA4a threatens to get stuck
The further development of the PrimA4a greenhouse horticulture area near Rijsenhout is on the way. The Glastuinbouw Netherlands storage company is awaiting the decisions of the municipality of Haarlemmermeer and the Greenport Aalsmeer about the precise activities that may be located at the A4 location.
The PrimA4a area was intended as an area for floriculture companies in the Greenport Aalsmeer, which must give way to other spatial functions. In practice, it turns out to be difficult to arrange the relocation of companies financially. In the meantime, there are many other parties, especially suppliers who would like to settle at Rijsenhout. The Stallingsbedrijf wants to get started with this.
The municipality of Haarlemmermeer guarantees a loan of 13.5 million euros that has been invested in land purchase. The value of the plots seems to have fallen. The municipality wants to reduce the guarantee to zero euros in 4 years at the latest. On the basis of the financial forecasts, this seemed feasible at the end of 2018. For the repayment of the loan, the Stallingbedrijf is dependent on proceeds from land sales, which have been disappointing in 2019 so far.
Greenport Aalsmeer and the Stallingsbedrijf and the municipality of Haarlemmermeer have formed a working group that identifies the bottlenecks and how they can be resolved. Clarity is needed in November. According to a spokesperson, the municipality of Haarlemmermeer currently has no other plans for the area.
